Villamartin
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6005 Metres - Distance 8.8 km
Villamartin hosted the 1994 Mediterranean Open which was won by Jose Maria Olazabal after an exciting play-off with Paul McGinley.
Villamartin Golf Course, designed by Paul Putman, is situated within a mile of the sea between Torrevieja and Murcia airport at San Javier on the south eastern tip of the Costa Blanca. It is built on hilly ground with the front nine holes being at the highest point of the course offering some spectacular sea views. The second nine are situated more in valleys with brancas ( ravines ) coming into play on several holes.
Villamartin golf course is located on the Orihuela Costa and is probably the best known course in the area.
Designed by Paul Putman and opened in 1972 the 1994 Mediterranean open was hosted here and won by Jose Maria Olazabal. The course is not too long, and is well adapted to the natural surroundings and terrain. Being located in the lowest part of a valley means it is not very undulating. There is plenty of Mediterranean vegetation as well as thick woods and there's a natural precipice you need to avoid. A number of holes have water hazards. The excellent design offers wide variety of all 18 holes giving enthusiasts the chance to enjoy using all 14 clubs from their bags. The magnificently maintained greens which are all a good size can be very fast.
You can also enjoy a game of tennis in the club courts or simply relax over an enjoyable meal in the club's excellent restaurant.
For those of you who haven't visited in a while the swimming pool is no longer there, having been replaced with landscaped gardens.

Las Ramblas

Las Ramblas Golf Club is situated about 10km south of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, Spain. It is within easy reach of Alicante & Murcia airports and is adjacent to Villamartin and Campoamor Golf Clubs with numerous Blue Flag beaches only 10mins away. Ideal for a golfing holiday.
Designed by Jose Gancedo, this really beautiful golf course was opened in 1991 by the owners of Villamartin. The course has been built in the hills with lots of pine trees and rolling fairways.
Some narrow fairways demand accuracy or you'll end up in the woods with the bears !
Las Ramblas means 'The Dry Ravines' and most tee shots are over or alongside a ravine so make sure you have plenty of balls !
This is a challenging course even for the low handicap golfer and the greens are lightning quick.

Campoamor
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6203 Metres - Distance 10.7 km
Designed by Carmelo Gracia Caselles and opened in 1989 the layout of this course is suited to both the professional player and the amateur.
The fairways are wide and long but the greens and the slope of the fairways can be big challenges. Fairway shots can be very difficult as some greens are on high ground following the natural contours of the terrain, protected by bunkers and exposed to the wind. Campoamor is a course for very big hitters having the longest par 3 of any course in the area. The Clubhouse has excellent facilities and the Pro Shop is very large offering a wide variety of clothing and equipment.There is also a practice driving range and 2 Putting greens.
The course is located close to Las Ramblas. In fact the entrances to each of the clubs are within 200 metres of one another.Despite their proximity they are very different courses.
You can make a reservation from the Campoamor website. Note that you can only book up to 3 days in advance.

Developed by the owners of Villamartin golf course and designed by Jose Gancedo (who also designed Las Ramblas), La Finca was opened in 2002 and is set alone in its own valley with breathtaking views. This magnificient course has been built to host open championships and looks set to become one of the premier courses in Spain. This long challenging course with its magnificient greens and water features will make you want to return again and again.
There is a practice driving range, putting greens, chipping area and practice bunker.
The course is located near the town of Algorfa, 20 minutes by car from Villamartin and 2.5 km down the road from Algorfa to Los Montesinos

Hacienda Riquelme
18 Holes - Par 72 - 4616 Metres - Distance 27.2 km
Hacienda Riquelme weaves its way through and around groves of olive trees, wildflower meadows, and large lakes. Taking advantage of the site’s larger scale, the Hacienda Riquelme Best Golf features wider-than-average fairways allowing players plenty of room to play while creating numerous strategic options. The boldly contoured greens are sure to be the most talked about feature of the course.
Many of the greens are broken into several sections by strong elevation changes making it crucial for golfers to play to the correct section of the green in order to set up the easiest putt possible.
Additionally, the greens also feature numerous subtle random contours and rolls further complicating putting. The unique bunkering creates a dramatic look sure to set Riquelme apart from other courses. Many of these large rugged bunkers are very deep with sand flashing in places up to three meters. The edges of the bunkers are cut in a jagged manner further adding to their distinctiveness while accenting the more rugged nature of the course.
In an interesting contrast to the other Nicklaus Golf Trail courses, Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort’s playing surfaces will be grassed with the latest Paspalum varieties, decreasing the need for large amounts of fresh water. La Marquesa
18 Holes - Par 72 - 5991 Metres - Distance 11.4 km
Situated 58 kilometres from Alicante on the N-332. It is located in a flat valley between mountains, and the layout of the round alternates between long holes and short ones. It is not excessively difficult and so players of all levels will enjoy it.
The most difficult factor lies in the characteristic layout of the greens, with their attractive and complicated slopes.
The round is bordered by streams and lakes, which gives the course excellent views and provides beautiful natural surroundings to play in.
The better players might find it a bit too easy, but the majority will find it very pleasant and will enjoy the excellent walk in a magnificent part of the country. The varied and pleasant round is lined with pines and palm trees. A wonderful location offering a very pleasant temperature both in summer and in winter.
